Metro Tasmania launch poster campaign to support Harmony Week 2017!
Harmony Week runs from March 20th – 26th, state-wide, and there are many ways to get involved.
Multicultural Council of Tasmania, Harmony Week Coordinator, Grace Walsh welcomes the Tasmanian Government’s support for the week-long celebration.
“The simple act of sharing traditional food and stories with our workmates goes a long way in creating a more inclusive environment.
“Harmony Week is about celebrating who we are. Tasmanians have always held a strong sense of community, so it is fitting we continue to promote our sense of belonging and commitment to eliminating racial discrimination with annual Harmony Week celebrations,” said Ms Walsh.
“Diversity makes Tasmania stronger. Tasmanians come from over 170 countries, speak over 129 different languages and follow over 24 different faiths.
“Tasmanian workplaces, schools and community groups can all play a role in sharing the message that everyone belongs.”
The Week coincides with the United Nations’ International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination on 21 March.
