Tasmania’s first Harmony Week kicks off!
Tasmanians are being encouraged to take part in the state’s first week-long multicultural celebration when it kicks off this Monday 14 March.
Harmony Week events are taking place across Tasmania from 14-21 March to promote community harmony and celebrate Tasmania’s rich cultural diversity.
Multicultural Council of Tasmania, Chairperson Alphonse Mulumba is heartened by the community’s response to Harmony Week.
“Harmony Week is for all Tasmanians. The message that everyone belongs will be taught in classrooms, exercised on soccer fields, embraced in workplaces and celebrated in community hospitals.
“Harmony Week enables every Tasmanian to recognise and respect our differences and promote an environment that welcomes newcomers,” said Mr Mulumba.
“I encourage everyone to get involved in the celebrations and experience the benefits diversity brings to our state.”
